NEPN is pleased to welcome Rasel Chowdhury to Newcastle to speak about his photographic practice on Wednesday 12 October at 6.30pm, the talk will start at 6.30pm prompt in the Lecture Theatre and will be followed by drinks and informal conversation in the Library until 8.30pm.

Rasel Chowdhury is an award-winning documentary photographer based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He started his career in photography documenting spaces in and around his birthplace. Rasel graduated in photography from Pathshala, South Asian Media Institute, and focused on changing landscapes and environmental issues as extremely important subjects to document in his generation.

Amongst his accolades, Rasel won the prestigious Ian Parry Award in 2011, and most recently the Samdani Art Award 2016. As part of the award, he is undertaking a three-month residency at the Delfina Foundation in London this year.
