Are you a photographer/photographic artist interested in
practice-based doctoral research?

Would you like to know more about what practice-based doctoral
research in creative subjects is?

Would you like support to think about how you might structure a proposal for PhD studies?

Join us for the first in two online events on Thursday 24 March.

The purpose of this day is to demystify what PhD research in photographic practice is, how doctoral programmes are structured and to help you to understand the steps required to present a strong PhD proposal.

There will be space to discuss your ideas, get feedback and ask questions and invited case-studies from social documentary photographer and PhD supervisor Dr Terry Speake and photographic artist Helen McGhie, plus contributions from academic staff from the University of Sunderland.

To book please visit: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/first-steps-to-a-phd-workshop-tickets-291330827347

A follow up ‘Writing Retreat’ event will be programmed to further refine your ideas and your proposals.

This event is programmed by Creative Fuse, NEPN and University of Sunderland, in response to NE photographer professional development needs survey of 2021 and applications received for the SHIFTS Bursary programme.
