The project seeks to engage the people of Sunderland in a series of photographic experiments, intended to explore the cross-currents of creativity shared by photography and science and to invite the public to share their experience of life in the city.
Over the summer, residents of Sunderland, and those who work and study in the city, have been participating in workshops and have encountered the project through a travelling darkroom which has popped up at community events, public and social spaces engaging over 1300 people!
WearExperimenting now invites the public to participate by creating images relating to the life of the city between September – October 2018.
The resultant images will be shared across social media using #WearExperimenting, building up a rich image bank and data set from which we can observe ourselves.
Works submitted may also be shown in an exhibition at Mackie’s Corner, High Street, Sunderland from 8 November – 1 December 2018.
